原创课件:生态时尚(概要写作)

本期分享来自乐成知临中学黄温柔老师。

文本特点

本文为说明文,共有4个段落。全文的主题为“生态时尚”,每个段落围绕这一主题展开。第一段介绍了“生态环保”的定义,第二段讲述了传统时尚产业的弊端,接着第三段讲到如何解决时尚生产业产生的问题,最后一段则提出了对未来“生态环保”发展趋势的展望以及它的优势。结构上清晰明确,层层递进。


在该课中,周老师的处理是这样的:


1 教师先带领学生梳理一遍文章的结构


2 再用思维导图的形式帮助学生理清文章的脉络


3 教师带领学生依次分析每一段的结构与内容。在分析各个段落的要点上,教师先通过做记号的方式标出段落中的关键词句,在段落信息的基础上,归纳出该段落的要点组成部分并用思维导图呈现,再通过适当衔接呈现段落的要点。本课通过各种标记以及思维导图等形式对文章进行解析,更为生动直观,也更有利于学生对文章的理解。


4 在呈现完要点之后,教师展示学生写的作文中出现的理解和语言上的错误,通过询问学生的方式修改其中的错误。之后,呈现学生中写的优秀的要点表达句子。


5 教师在分析完每个段落的要点之后,向学生教授写作技巧。从第2 段总结出的写作技巧由教师直接给出,第3、4 段则让学生自己思考得出。


6 教师给学生展示总的范文,对本课讲授的写作技巧进行总结性的呈现,最后布置课堂任务——修改某一位同学的文章。


本课基于学生写的作文进行设计,里面所出现的例子均来自于学生,将学生中出现的理解、语言上的错误与他们所写的优秀句子放在课件中让学生进行评析与修改,包括最后的任务中出现的文章也来自于学生。


小编以为黄老师刚出大学校门就能以学生为导向的设计很棒。学生先写作文,上交改了之后再进行讲解与分析的。黄老师发现:本次作文学生的错误集中在内容理解与语言表达方面,于是针对这两个方面进行了重点解析。


另外,在本堂课中,并不是教师一味地灌输学习,而是通过挖空、提问等方式让学生自己思考,共同讨论来总结出此文章的概要写作。这有助于激发学生的课堂参与度与积极性。

阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。

What is eco-fashion? Eco-fashion is about making clothes that take into account the environment, the health of consumers and the working conditions of people in the fashion industry.

A closer look at the fashion industry points out many problems that are common practices in the creation of our fashions from the field to the factory. Firstly, the production of textiles(纺织品)pollutes the environment heavily. Cotton-planting uses pesticides; sheep-farming and wool-cleaning contribute to global warming. Secondly, every stage of clothing production uses a great deal of energy, and some also involve chemicals which evidently do harm to the surroundings. In addition, there is a lot of waste produced in the process, especially in the form of polluted water. Thirdly, growing purchasing power and our shopping habits further worsen the bad effects. We are now buying clothes in increasing quantities and we are also quick to throw away clothes that have been worn only a couple of times.

Then, how to solve the problems? To a large degree, it is the fashion producers that really have the power and the responsibility to shape our future. There are numerous ways in which these producers can reduce their ecological footprint, from switching to green energy and reducing energy use, through selecting sustainable materials and choosing local suppliers, to recycling and minimizing waste. On the other hand, as consumers we can all make contributions by selecting environmentally friendly clothing and reducing clothing buying.

There is some concern that eco-friendly fashions are just a trend that we will eventually grow tired of but we can make sure that doesn't happen. Now many people are beginning to shop for organic food products because the benefits of eating food free of chemicals are straightforward and immediate. They relate directly to our personal health. In fact, choosing eco-fashion can also contribute to our personal health, though it is mostly done by way of keeping the health of the planet.


Teaching Design

Lesson: The Analysis of Summary Writing: Eco-fashion

1. Teaching Objectives

 By the end of class,

1. Students will be able to understand the topic and structure of the passage as well as the main idea of each paragraph.

2. Students will be able to improve their ability to generalize the sub-points.

3. Students will be able to polish their summary writing from the aspect of understanding and language.

2. Learner Description 

The learners are the students of Grade 2 in Zhilin high school. On the one hand, these students are in the second year of senior high school, so they are not so familiar with the summary writing. On the other hand, these students have a good learning foundation, and they need to develop their ability to understand the structure and the meaning of the passage deeply. Therefore, I will show the main points of each paragraph step by step, and then show students mistakes in understanding and language. Besides, I design some further questions and discussions for them to complete.  

3. Material Description

The passage is an expository writing made up of four paragraphs. The topic of this passage is eco-fashion, which is a hot issue currently for it is related to environmental protection. It is not difficult to figure out the structure of the passage. The four paragraphs talk about different aspects of the topicthe definition of eco-fashion, problems of traditional fashion industry, solutions to solve them and the benefits and trends of eco-fashion.

To help students understand the passage easily, I use mind maps to present the content as well as the relationship clearly. As for the sub-points of the passage, I underline the details of each paragraph using marks like lines and circles, and then I summarize them with the help of frames, graphs and arrows.

4. Teaching Procedures

Step 1 Analyze the structure

(1) Ask students to read the passage again and brow for the topic and structure.

(2) Show the mind map to students.

(Topic: eco-fashion

Para.1definition; para.2 problems; para.3 solution; para.4 benefits& trend)

Step 2 Figure out the main points& Show students’ mistakes and excellent writing

Para1 Definition

(1) Underline the key words& phrases. (“making clothes”, ”taking into account”, ”environment”, “the health of consumers”, “the working conditions of people”)

(2) Give the mind map of para.1.

(3) Give the version of point 1 and ask students to complete the sentence: concerning the environment pollution, consumer’s health and working conditions, eco-fashion is a new trend of clothes-making industry. Then let them think about other words or phrases that can replace “concerning” and “is”.

(4) Show students’ mistakes in understanding and language and help revise them.

(5) Show the excellent writing from students.

Para 2 Problems

(1) Underline the key words& phrases, and conclude the problems—“environmental pollution” and “energy consumption” from these details.

(2) Give the mind map of para.2.

(3) Give the version of point 2 and ask them to complete it: various problems arise in traditional fashion production, including environmental pollution and vast energy consumption, which are worsened by growing purchasing power and shopping.

(4) Ask them what writing skill they learn from this paragraph. Then show the skill: from the phenomenon to the essence.

(5) Show students’ mistakes in understanding and language and help revise them.

(6) Show the excellent writing from students.

Para 3 Solution 

(1) Understanding of paragraph 3

T: to solve the problems, who should take the responsibility?—Circle the phrase “on the other hand” and then “fashion producers” & “consumers”.

Then circle the words ”from”, “through” and “to” , and conclude the solutions.

(2) Give the mind map of para.3.

(3) Give the version of point 3: to settle the problem, it depends on producers as well as customers to reduce, reuse and recycle.

(4) Ask them what writing skill they learn from this paragraph. Then show the skill: from the specific to the general.

(5) Show students’ mistakes in understanding and language and help revise them.

(6) Show the excellent writing from students.

Para 4 Benefits &trend

(1) Ask students which sentences shows the benefits and which sentences shows the trend. Then ask them to conclude the benefits of eco-fashion (benefit the health of the earth and people) and answer what the trend of eco-fashion is inferring from the sentences (a lasting trend).

(2) Give the mind map of para.4.

(3) Give the version of point 4: benefiting the health of the earth and people, eco-fashion is bound to last.

(4) Ask them what writing skill they learn from this paragraph. Then show the skill: from the surface to the deep.

(5) Show students’ mistakes in understanding and language and help revise them.

(6) Show the excellent writing from students.

Step 3 Show one possible version of the whole passage

Concerning the environment pollution, consumer’s health and working conditions, eco-fashion is a new trend of clothes-making industry. Various problems arise in traditional fashion production, including environmental pollution and vast energy consumption, which are worsened by growing purchasing power and shopping. To settle the problem, it depends on producers as well as customers to reduce, reuse and recycle. Benefiting the health of the earth and people, eco-fashion is bound to last.

Step 4 Summary of the writing skills

② from the specific to the general

③ from the surface to the deep

Step 5 Assignment—help revise the composition

The clothes that were producted by eco-fashion, seem protect the environment as well as consumers’ health. In fact, producing the textiles makes the problems that wasting the energy, growing purchasing power and shopping habit. To solve the problems, the pollution should be appealed by the producers and customers with responsibility.  In totally, using eco-fashion is not good to both the earth and human.
